Capturing memories is one of the reasons why we love photos so much! It’s also why I feel so grateful to have been asked to photograph Mr. Green’s last fall concert at Billings West High School.
Last year, I took yearbook photos for the music department after another photographer fell through. They liked the experience and my work so much that they asked me back this year, and I couldn’t be more excited!
After teaching at West High for about 15 years, Mr. Green will be retiring at the end of this year. In order to make his last fall concert memorable, he surprised his students and even his wife by playing his accordion onstage. It was such a fun moment!
Getting to photograph this event has brought me immense joy. Just looking back on the photos, you can practically hear the choirs sing. These kids really know how to convey emotions and give their all onstage. A glance into the audience every now and then and I could see the pride beaming off their parents’ faces. It’s really touching.
I just really love that I get to do this for work. It doesn’t even feel like work! Plus, I can’t wait to go back and photograph more for the students of West High.
