Congratulations! You found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with! You want to make it official and put a ring on it! How do we do that?! I’ve got some pointers for you!
First things first! Make sure you and your partner are on the same page when it comes to getting engaged and married. The last thing you want is to get rejected at your proposal because there wasn’t enough communication between you and your partner. Strike up that conversation! What is the ideal time frame for you and your partner to be dating, engaged and married!
Okay so you know you and your partner are on the same page and wants to get engaged. Now what? Pick a date! Is there a special date you have in mind? Your partner will remember it forever! Some ideas can be the date you started dating. It is very popular to propose on your anniversary of dating! Or maybe you want the date to be it’s own special date. Friday is the most popular day of the week to propose. Then you can celebrate your engagement over the weekend! Still need ideas on dates to pop the big question? Here are the most popular dates to propose on: Christmas Day (December 25), December 24, New Years Day (January 1) and Valentine’s Day (February 14) just to name a few!
Great! The date is set! Think about a location! Is there a special place you and your partner share? It could be at the place you first met, a park, restaurant, home, etc. I’m sure you’ll think of some place special!
The next thing to consider is do you want people there to witness the proposal happening? Take into consideration if your person is more of a private or public person! Will it be just the two of you? Will their family and closest friends be hiding out and witnessing it from afar and then coming out after the proposal was a success?
Next, you’ll need to hire a photographer. This is a once in a lifetime experience that you don’t want to forget! Do you want to disguise the proposal as a couple’s shoot, or do you want to have your photographer stay hidden until the moment is about to happen?
Lastly, make sure you’re both photo-ready! Do either of you have a hair or nail schedule? You’ll want to either work around that schedule, or come up with a discreet reason to change it this time!
Once all these pieces are put together, you just have to make sure everyone involved (except your special person!) knows the details. Make sure everyone knows this will be a surprise and not to spoil anything! Now you’re ready to sit back and wait for your proposal date.
