3 Reasons to Get Senior Pictures in the Summer

I can think of so many reasons why clients do not want to get their senior photos done in the summer. School hasn’t even started, summer days can get hot, maybe you’re going on vacation…but let me give you three reasons why you SHOULD get your photos taken this summer.

1. Golden hour lasts more than an hour

If you are looking for golden, sun-filled photos, summer is the perfect time for a shoot! The sun stays out longer and later than it does in the fall, winter, or even spring. By the time the sun is in the perfect spot for some really golden photos, it’s not too hot anymore, and you’re not still thinking about dinner! Summer also allows for a certain glow coming off of the plants that have had time to grow and mature.

2. Scheduling options

Many high schoolers are not thinking about getting their senior pictures scheduled at this point in the year, making it the perfect time to schedule. Scheduling early not only allows you to get your photos checked off the list and get your products early but also gives you the first choice on dates! Vacations and work schedules are much easier to work around than school, work, sports, clubs, etc. Getting scheduled sooner rather than later ensures you get the exact date you want.

3. Be yearbook ready

Yearbook photos are due in October most years. From now, that seems like all the time in the world, but I know from experience that it’s not. It takes time to get on the books and plan your shoot, then it will take time to get your photos ready to choose, edit them, and get you your digitals to you. Scheduling during the summer gives you so much time to get all that done!
